Warren Shull Award

The Warren Shull Award is given by the National Association of Student Councils recognizing outstanding contributions in working with student leaders. CADA chooses a designee each year to represent the state of California and Region 7 with the NASC organization.

2008 CADA Warren Shull Award Recipients:

Steve Southard and Mark Lantz

Mr. Steve Southard - Steve has been at Sonora High School for quite some time and has been a member of CADA since the early 80's. He has spoken at the State, Area and Local Conferences. Nationally, he has spoken in Hawaii, Maine and New Mexico. Statewide his travels have brought him to San Diego, Santa Barbara, Modesto, Redding, Anaheim, Woodland, San Jose, Whittier and other parts of the state. He has been married for 35 wonderful years to Jill and has two daughters, Shannon and Lainey.

Mr. Mark Lantz - Mark, who was named an SBD Fellow from John Hopkins University for his work with gifted students, has taught math, science, PE, Art, home economics, social studies, ESL and has even done a couple years at an administrative desk. He has found a home in science as a department chair as well as being the ASB Advisor. This summer, after spending 25 years at the Middle School level, he has made the jump to High School. He has been active with the Area E Council since 1993, garnering the Outstanding Activities Director Award in 2001. He has coordinated both Area E's New Advisor Conference as well as the Adult Conference. Mark has worked every CADA convention since 1998 and served as Area E Coordinator from 2002-2007.
